neXus Architecture
Best-of-breed Performance with Best-of-suite Ease of Use
neXus is integrated with best-in-class LDAP, DHCP, AAA and database products from industry leaders such as Cisco Systems, Sun Microsystems, Oracle and MySQL.
Incorporating purpose-built products, neXus enables a powerful, best-of-breed solution that does not sacrifice performance for any built-in component. At the same time, it provides a best-of-suite ease of use thanks to its integration and centralized operational GUI.
Allowing service providers to use their existing critical systems saves the time, risk and costs that accompany replacement projects.
Programmable, Pre-integrated Business Logic
neXus includes pre-integrated business logic that enables quick application of a range
of canned solutions.
Entity Mapping – This powerful neXus feature enables mapping actions such as create, view session, report and disconnect to the underlying business logic, interface invocations and specific syntax rules.
This approach enables rapid adaptation to new equipment and vendors and allows the introduction of new solutions quickly and effectively. It simply requires some fine-tuning of the pre-integrated business logic for different working environments.
N-Tier Software Architecture
| Built on a robust J2EE object-oriented server, neXus employs an N-Tier architecture comprising the following tiers: |
 |
| |
| Usage Tier – An easy -to-use API/GUI for invoking transactions. The API provides simple XML over HTTP envelope or a SOAP interface. |
Business Logic Tier – Transactions-based framework providing permissions, logging, data integrity, message translation, resource allocation and configurable-entity mapping.
Data Access Tier – Protocol stacks deployed as plug-ins into the server and framed, allowing connection pooling to synchronous/asynchronous data sources.
Carrier-Grade, N+1 Architecture
Thanks to its N-Tier Architecture, neXus scales up independently at each tier. The application state is maintained at an external, highly available repository, while the application itself is stateless.
This enables the addition of as many application nodes as necessary in a load-sharing cluster, yielding a linear scalable N+1 architecture. Such an approach ensures carrier-grade system availability and no single point of failure.
Interfaces
neXus provides the following interfaces:
 |
SOAP/XML - Exposes the entire subscriber operation portfolio as web services for BSS systems such as CRM, Billing, Order Management and Call Center |
|
|
 |
GUI - For Call Center and Engineering departments |
|
|
 |
Captive Portal - For Self Care, service selection, Pre-paid top-ups and Corporate accounts management |
Operational interfaces include role-based permissions and information hiding, allowing neXus to be used by non-engineering staff as well such as Call Centers, MVNOs, Corporate IT and subscribers.
